Brikama Boyo to launch album this weekend

Sana Singhateh aka ST Brikama Boyo is set to launch his newest album this Saturday at the Bakau stadium. The 9-track album is named Sosolaso, a Mandinka war cry.

Addressing a press conference at Heritage restaurant in Senegambia yesterday evening, ST said this Saturday’s album launch will be one of his biggest shows with live performances and showcasing collabos with several artistes including Pa Salieu and Ngaka Blindé.

“The album entails everything, and I must say, it is the most marketable album of mine right now,” ST stated.

Deputy editor scoops Employee of The Year at Standard end of year bash

Essayist, proof-reader and deputy editor Talibeh Hydara picked up The Standard Employee of The Year award at the 2021 end-of-the year party recently held at the newspaper’s offices at Sait Matty Junction in Bakau.

The publishers of The Point newspaper, Alhaji Pap Saine and Baba Hydara presented the prize in the form of cash to the talented writer and journalist.

Mr Saine urged Talibeh Hydara to continue with the good work he is doing and encouraged the other workers to work harder.

Standard managing director Sheriff Bojang lauded the management and staff for the successes registered over the year and encouraged them to work even harder in the new year.

During the event, the staff and guests led by general manager Pa Salla Jeng and his beautiful wife Yama, exchanged gifts and feasted.

The Employee of The Year Award winner may be talented but he’s a tad dull and austere in outlook-and so convinced photographer-cum-deejay Nfamara Drammeh not to spin the discs of the latest Wally Seck and Popcaan numbers.
