Our story
Established in 2010, The Standard is a privately owned Gambian newspaper and online news publication. From our offices in Fajara, we cover the people, events and decisions shaping life in The Gambia, alongside developments across Africa and the world.
Our newspaper and website connect readers with daily news, interviews, features, sport and opinion. Readers can follow our coverage in print and at standard.gm, whether they are in The Gambia or following events from abroad.
Ownership and publisher
The Standard Newspaper is owned, published and printed by XL Standard Co. Ltd., a company based in The Gambia. Our office is on Kairaba Avenue, Fajara, opposite The Butchers Shop Restaurant.
