Banjul Fashion Summit 2027 to build industry

The Banjul Fashion Summit 2027 will take place from 7 to 9 January 2027, bringing designers, creative entrepreneurs, artisans, models, buyers, investors, policymakers, media and international partners under the theme “Beyond the Runway. Building the Industry.”

The three-day summit will combine industry conversations, exhibitions, installations, competitions, and cultural programming. It aims to connect creative talent with the knowledge, networks, markets and partnerships needed to build sustainable fashion and creative businesses.

By bringing creative practitioners together with business leaders and institutions, the summit will provide a platform to exchange ideas, showcase products, explore commercial opportunities and strengthen collaboration across the fashion industry.  Also, youth development, cultural heritage and creative enterprise will be central to its programme.

“Fashion is one of the clearest ways a country can express its identity, but its value goes far beyond appearance,”said Yawa Conateh, founder and director of Banjul Fashion Summit 2027.”

“This summit is about building pathways from creativity to enterprise, employment, trade and international opportunity.”

The Banjul Fashion Summit 2027 will spotlight Gambian creativity while strengthening regional and international connections. Its ambition is to help designers, artisans and emerging creative businesses gain visibility, develop practical industry relationships and identify opportunities beyond the event itself.

Further announcements on participating designers, speakers, partners, applications, registration and media accreditation will be released through the summit’s official channels.
