Nuha Coach Sanneh has made a desperate appeal to the general public, philanthropists, charitable organisations and all compassionate Gambians to help save the life of his daughter, Aisha Sanneh, who urgently needs life-saving overseas heart surgery.
Aisha is currently admitted at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul, battling a serious congenital heart condition.
According to a medical report from the hospital, Aisha has been diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a severe congenital heart defect that obstructs the normal flow of blood through the heart and requires specialised surgical correction.
The report indicates that Aisha initially presented with coughing, fever and rapid breathing. She was diagnosed and placed on medication, but her condition later deteriorated with excessive crying and severe difficulty breathing.
She is now being managed for hypercyanotic spells a potentially fatal complication of Tetralogy of Fallot.
Medical examinations revealed significant abnormalities in her heart, including severe narrowing of the pathway through which blood flows to the lungs. At the time of assessment, she was in respiratory distress and required oxygen support.
Following echocardiography, doctors recommended that Aisha be stabilised and urgently referred overseas for surgical correction, as the required procedure is not available in The Gambia.
Faced with huge costs he cannot afford, the father is appealing for urgent financial assistance to give his daughter a chance to live.
Anyone willing to support Aisha’s treatment can contact me directly. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference,” Nuha said.
He called on individuals, organisations and the general public to contribute whatever they can and to share the appeal widely across WhatsApp groups and other platforms to reach potential donors.
Anyone willing to help can contact her father, Mr Sanneh, on: 83331846/ 866310075.
Both numbers are available on Wave for financial contributions.
