GAMBIA SET FOR DAKAR 2026 YOUTH OLYMPICS

The Gambia National Olympic Committee has started preparing for the country’s participation in the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.

Ahead of the games which open in Dakar later this month, The Gambia’s swimming and athletics teams left for the Senegalese capital for a training camp to acclimatise themselves with the venues as part of their final preparations.

“The camp is an important phase in the athletes’ preparation, providing them with the opportunity to adapt to the local environment, sharpen their competitive skills, build confidence, and familiarise themselves with the conditions ahead of the Games,” the GNOC said.

Olympic House also added that it remains committed to providing the necessary support and creating an enabling environment for our young athletes to prepare, compete, and perform to the best of their abilities. The Gambia will also participate in volleyball among other disciplines.
