Hamat predicts NPP landslide victory in CRR

The Minister of Lands and Religious Affairs and leader of the National Reconciliation Party (NRP), Hamat Bah, has predicted a landslide victory for President Adama Barrow in the Central River Region (CRR) in the December 5 presidential election.

Bah said CRR North will deliver 95 per cent of its votes to the ruling National People’s Party (NPP).

He was speaking at a massive political rally in Jimbala village, Lower Saloum Constituency, where thousands of supporters gathered to reaffirm their support for President Barrow’s re-election bid.

“These people are all natives of the constituency. We did not mobilise people from anywhere. These people came by their own will,” Bah told the crowd.

He said the huge turnout by NPP and NRP supporters demonstrates strong cooperation within the grand alliance ahead of the polls.

“The meeting was meant to reaffirm our support for President Adama Barrow’s re-election and we believe CRR North will vote 95 per cent for him,” Hamat said.

The rally also became a show of confidence in the National Assembly Member for Lower Saloum, Sainey Jawara with community members praising him for his engagement and support to local communities and pledging to re-elect him in the forthcoming legislative elections.

Bah and Hon Jawara used the occasion to distribute motorbikes and cooking utensils to beneficiary communities as part of grassroots empowerment efforts in Lower Saloum.

Lands Minister Bah added that he has tasked the alliance’s structures in the region to deliver the target, expressing optimism that President Barrow will secure an overwhelming mandate.

The Jimbala rally underscored the NRP-NPP alliance’s push to consolidate its grassroots base in CRR, a region it considers a decisive stronghold.
