Abdoulie Njai, the Independent National Assembly Member for Banjul Central, officially joined the ruling NPP on Monday.
Accompanied by a cross section of supporters from Banjul, Abdoulie Naji, aligned himself with the “NPP’s service delivery purpose and commitment to advancing the lives and livelihoods of Gambians.”
Writing on his Facebook Page as he welcome the NAM, President Barrow said Njai singled out his government’s exceptional tolerance to criticisms and democratic pluralism.
He said the NAM advised voters especially the youth to be wary of manipulative messages from political adventurers.
“The Gambia of 2026 is different from 2016 as new modern roads, schools, hospitals, electricity and expanded civil liberties in Banjul and other parts of the country are undeniable proofs of my Government’s performance,” the president said.
He continued: “I came to Banjul in 1981 from Mankamang Kunda in the Upper River Region and I am a living witness to the deteriorating state of the capital before 2017. Since I launched the massive Banjul transformation project, today, Banjul stands out as a modern capital city.
My trajectory of bridging the urban-rural development gap continues. I call on all who believe in decentralised development to join the NPP Grand Alliance for us to move forward together.”
