The Gambia Red Cross Society is responding to a tragic boat incident off the coast of Jinack Kajata in the North Bank Region, involving migrants reportedly attempting to travel using the Atlantic route.

Following the incident, the GRCS volunteers are supporting the response through the dignified management of human remains and the provision of mental health and psychosocial support to affected community members. The Society is also working closely with relevant authorities and response partners as the situation unfolds.
