Dr Ismaila Ceesay, a political science lecturer at the University of The Gambia, was yesterday questioned and detained by the police.
Police spokesman David Kujabi told The Standard that Dr Ceesay was questioned about comments he made in The Voice newspaper but did not give details.
On Wednesday The Voice Newspaper published a story in which Dr. Ceesay was talking about among other things issues relating to security, saying President Barrow needs to earn the confidence of the armed forces. He also said Ecomig’s presence in the country will not solve future security risks.
