Gina Bass gun for two SJAG awards

Top female athlete Gina Bass has been nominated for both the Local Based Athlete of the year and Best Female Athlete of the year awards by Sports Journalist Association of the Gambia, SJAG.
Gina is join by fellow athlete Adama Jammeh and footballer Gregory Sambou of Ports Authority Football Club for the Local based category while Abie Kujabi of Armed Forces Female Volleyball team and Sona Saho of the police are on the shortlist for the main Female Athlete of the year prize, alongside last year’s winner, Gina Bass.

Coaches Alagie Sarr of GPA and Lamin LF Badjie of GAF Volleyball team are up for the Best Coach of the year award, alongside 2016 finalist Abdoulie Ngum of SK West Basketball team.
Modou Barrow of Leeds United, Hamza Barry of Hajduk split of Croatia and Omar Colley of Belgium’s Genk FC are the final three nominees vying for the Foreign Based Athlete of the year award.
The best referee category will be confirmed by Thursday evening while the other categories in quick summary are.

The winners, voted for by Sports Journalists’, will be announced on April 28th at a ceremony at Djembe Resort Hotel in Kololi.
The Annual National Sports Award organized by SJAG is meant to recognised efforts of Gambia’s sports men and women for the year 2016.
Organizers are looking forward to another successful occasion as we celebrate the pride of our country men and women striving for excellence in their respective disciplines for national sports development.
Like previous editions, this year’s ward is expected to be graced by prominent sports personalities at home and abroad.
