The trial of an elderly man, Bubacarr Jallow of Fajara, accused of the indecent assault of a three-year-old girl, yesterday continued at the Kanifing Magistrates Court.

The fourth prosecution witness, Ms Bojang, an officer from the Police Child Welfare Unit told the court presided over by Magistrate Mam Samba Jallow that it was tasking to take the statement from the young girl who even barely talk.

“I used a baby doll as a technique to understand and get the facts right,” she told the court.

The defence lawyer asked the court to demand the witness to present certificates and credentials she has acquired affirming her competence for the work she does by the next adjourned date so that she can be cross-examined.  The alleged incident was reported to have occurred in late June of this year.

Magistrate Jallow adjourned the matter to 1st December.
