GAP Congratulates Brazil’s President-elect Lula Da Silva

Press release

On behalf of the leadership of the Gambia Action Party (GAP), led by Musa Ousainou Yali Batchilly, and on my own behalf as Presidential Candidate, I extend our warmest and most sincere congratulations to His Excellency President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his historic re-election as President of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

President Lula’s victory is not only a triumph for the Brazilian people; it is a victory for democracy, social justice and the enduring strength of the Global South. His return to leadership reaffirms Brazil’s role as a powerful voice for multipolarity, South-South cooperation and a fairer international order.

For Africa and The Gambia, President Lula has long represented a partner who understands our history, respects our dignity and recognises the importance of building genuine partnerships based on equality rather than dependency. His commitment to strengthening ties with Africa through BRICS, the G20, trade, culture and political cooperation gives hope to all who believe in a more balanced and just world.

As Presidential Candidate of The Gambia Action Party, I congratulate the Brazilian people for their democratic choice and President Lula for his resilience, vision and unwavering dedication to the causes of working people, developing nations and oppressed peoples everywhere.

We look forward to deeper friendship and cooperation between Brazil, Africa and The Gambia under your renewed leadership.

Congratulations, President Lula.

Viva Brazil! Viva Africa! Viva the Global South!
