1 new Covid-19 case confirmed

The Gambia has registered Covid-19 cases in consecutive days after an 86-year-old tested positive on Wednesday.
The country now has 64 recorded cases.
The health ministry said the new case has no known travel history.

“He only came in contactwith the response team after the onset of symptoms similar to those of COVID-19. He began exhibiting symptomsof COVID-19 (coughing) on 30th June and his issue was reported to the rapid response team (through the 1025Hotline) by his son on July 6th. He has since been admitted at the EFSTH where his sample was collected on 7th July and apositive test resultreturned on July 8th,” the ministry stated.
The country currently has 371 people in quarantine; 27 active and 9 probablecases.
