Project Consultant Basamba explained that the training was delivered under the EU’s MAC 2021–2027 programme as part of the Compass Project, co-financed by the European Union.

He said the initiative represents a strong partnership between international and local stakeholders aimed at creating opportunities for young people.

Meanwhile, Spanish ChargĂ© d’Affaires Violeta Insa expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the programme, noting Spain’s long-standing support to GTHI, dating back to the expansion of the institute’s facilities in 2009.

The Compass Project is designed to equip young Gambians with practical skills in tourism and hospitality, contributing to employment and growth in one of the country’s key economic sectors.
