Zaquan Holman, 23, pleaded not guilty to a single count when he was arraigned before Magistrate Sheriff Tabally on July 30.
Mr Holman was accused of causing the death of a two-year-old child (name withheld) in New Jeshwang on July 25 by driving in a rash and negligent manner which caused the child’s death. He denied any wrong-doing.
Magistrate Tabally struck out the case after the prosecution failed to prosecute the case against Mr Holman. The case was adjourned on four consecutive occasions without a single witness presented by the prosecution. “The matter is struck out for lack of diligence by the prosecutor,” Magistrate Tabally said before Mr Holman walked out of the packed courtroom a freeman.
