According to count one, Ansumana and Alfusainey conspired to rob Guaranty Trust Bank Bakau branch on Friday 5thSeptember and thereby committed an offence. On count two, the two were indicted for robbing the bank of D410,120 while armed with a gun.
Both men pleaded guilty to the charge of conspiracy while only Ansumana Jarjue pleaded guilty to the charged of armed robbery, with the second accused Alfusainey Jatta pleading his innocence.
Prosecuting, the director of public prosecution, SH Barkun applied to the court to transfer the case to the special criminal court which has the jurisdiction to preside over cases attracting the death penalty citing legal notice number 3 of 2009.
Magistrate Tabally duly transferred the case to the court while remanding the accused persons.
