The APRC party under the leadership of Hon. Fabakary Tombong Jatta together with his executive committee on Monday the 19th June 2018 visited the victims of the recent Faraba Banta crisis. The visit was to sympathise with them on this irreplaceable lost of lives and property.
The team also visited the crisis site and met with some community members. In the circumstance, the party deplores and condemned the use of live ammunition against unarmed civilians and the subsequent arrest of some community members.
As we recall the shooting to death of Mr Haruna Jatta with live ammunition, it is also regrettable that this Faraba Banta crisis which has been dragging for some time now could be resolved to avoid the lost of the cream (youth) of our dear country.
We therefore call on Government to immediately investigate the circumstances that led to this Bloody Monday incident and to bring to book all those found wanting. The Party also recommends to government to compensate the families of the deceased and wounded.
We pray that Allah SWT prevents a reoccurrence of this type of incidence and grant the departed souls Jannatul Firda’us.
We further pray that Allah SWT grants the families of the departed souls the fortitude to bear these irreparable lost.
