The opposition Alliance for Patriotic Re-orientation and Construction, APRC have selected its candidates for the mayor and councilor elections.
As earlier reported by The Standard, Ousman Rambo Jatta of Bakau is selected as the party’s candidate to contest in the Kanifing Municipality while Abdoulie Saine, a former APRC Banjul-Central parliamentary aspirant, is selected to stand in Banjul.
The party also selected at least 23 others to contest as councilors across the country, out of which seven are women.
The party Spokesperson and Press Secretary Seedy Njie congratulated the candidates, and called on all APRC supporters to ‘rally behind these candidates and vote them in.’
The spokesperson said more candidates including chairmen of regional councils will be announced in the next few days as selection is still ongoing.
