The Gambia Armed Forces has issued a statement assuring that it is fully committed to support the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission. The army’s reaction came in response to concerns expressed by victims of the November 11 1994 abortive coup who alleged that serving members of the Gambia Armed Forces are implicated in atrocities connected to that event.
“The Gambia Armed Forces would like to assure the victims that they would support TRRC in case any of her personnel are invited to testify in the newly constituted TRRC,” the statement concluded.
