Outspoken imam, Ba-Kawsu Fofana, has urged “western educated Muslims and Christians” to be godfearing and be honest in whatever they do. Addressing hundreds of worshippers during his Friday sermon last week, the Imam said educated people should use their knowledge and expertise only for the good of the country and help society develop. “The Prophet Muhammad had said among the people who will go to heaven are those who are honest and educated more so those entrusted to pass judgements between people,” he said. Ba-Kawsu added that the prophet had also warned that knowledge not used for the right things can lead the holder to perish in hell fire. ”So those who use their knowledge for bribery and corruption must be ready for judgement in the hereafter,” he said.
He urged religious leaders to defend the truth and condemn wrong doers.
