Gambia Agency for the Management of Public Works (Gamworks) has officially handed over five roads to GAI Enterprise for the construction of Kusamai-Bajagarr road, Kassa Kunda-Nyofelleh, Brikama car park rear access road, Sukuta Mariama Kunda and the pavement of Brikama Police Station and Catholic Church frontage. The occasion was held at the Brikama Area Council ground.
Speaking at the occasion, the West Coast Region governor, Mr Ebrima Mballow, expressed delight to be part of the handing over ceremony. For Mr Mballow, it has been long awaited and important occasion that will ease and contribute to the lives and livelihood of his people. “I am the happiest person for the day,” Governor Mballow remarked.
The chairman of Brikama Area Council Bakary Saibou Sanneh said he has no doubt that Gamworks, as usual, will deliver quality work. He however urged the contractor to ensure the work is done as stipulated expressing concern that Brikama is always in bad state when rains commence. The contractor assured that he will deliver to expectation.
The handing-over was attended by senior officials of Gamworks and Brikama Area Council.
