Banjul Breweries Limited distributes motor tricycles to wholesalers and food items to staff

Banjul Breweries Limited, the leading beverage producer in The Gambia, Tuesday handed over eighteen motor tricycles to its wholesalers and distributors across the country in recognition and appreciation of their excellent and exceptionally high sales volume performance in 2017.

The event, held at the country’s first and only brewery, also witnessed handing over 50kg bags of rice, 50kg bags of sugar and 10 litre cooking oil to each staff of the company, as well as its casual workers who each benefitted from a bag of rice or sugar, valued over four hundred thousand dalasi.
The gesture is meant to support the staff in preparation of the holy month of Ramadan.

Speaking at the ceremony, the country Sales Manager Borry Darboe, said Banjul Breweries is a critical partner and a dynamic force to the evolution and development of the country’s economy by not only maximising profits but also ploughing back to the society as part of their corporate social responsibilities.
He said the awarded tricycles worth over 1 million dalasi are designed to support the growth of businesses of deserving wholesalers and distributors who have tremendously partnered with the company over the years in realising its objectives.

Forty-seven wholesalers and distributors benefitted from a total customer allowance of 13.3 million last year, which is used to buy more products to increase their sales volume.
”You have shown commitment to your business that you wish to see it developed; that is why you choose to collaborate with Banjul Breweries Limited. We are proud of you, and we will continue to encourage you to double up your efforts so that our shared objectives will be achieved,” Darboe said.

”Today’s award is another manifestation of our commitment to our customers. This is a company that is built on standards and we will always endeavour to maintain that. Wherever you go people just love our products and that is because we adhere to international and local standards which we have never compromised and will never compromise,” he added.

The company has won the Monde Selection, Brussels, and Gold Award at least 4 times and among all the twenty companies, operating in Africa under the same brewery Group, Banjul Breweries ranked second in terms of growth performance in 2017.

The secretary General Banjul Breweries Madam Fatou Sinyan Mergan applauded the awarded distributors and wholesalers for their loyalty and continuous long-standing partnership and patronage to the company over the years.

She said from November to January 2018, the Brewery had organised six raffle draws under the world cola promotion targeting its customers who won various prizes ranging from televisions, refrigerators, smart phones, rice, sugar, cooking oil and cash amounts.
