Bubacarr Sanneh rejects Chinese Super League move

By Modou Lamin Beyai The Chinese Super League has all the cash but their millions won’t take away Gambia defender Bubacarr Sanneh from the CASA Arena Horsens as he turned down a January move to the Chinese Super League. The AC Horsens centre-back was wanted by the state-owned Tianjin TEDA but has turned down the overtures of the Super League outfit in favor of a European move, The Standard can report. TEDA, who finished 10th in last season’s Super League, offered a two-year contract to the Scorpions international, but the 22-year-old rejected the enticing offer favoring a move to an unnamed club in Germany. “It is true that I rejected the offer from China for now because I want to stay in Europe like I said earlier but we will see what happens soon,” Sanneh exclusively told The Standard from his base in Denmark. Sanneh, who has made 64 league appearances and scoring 10 goals since joining Horsens in 2014, also said he is considering offers from Russia and Turkey though talks have not yet started. Horsens are meanwhile resigned to losing their star player after signing another defender from Brøndby IF with coach Bo Henriksen saying: “We signed Martin Albrechtsen because it is perfectly possible that Buba will go.” “A bid may come that we cannot say no to but it has not arrived yet – and it’s 100 percent the truth.”]]>
