Dismissed governor behind bars

However, the spokesperson of the Gambia Police Force, ASP David Kujabi, said he was unaware of the former governor’s detention. 

Mr Touray had served as the governor of the country’s biggest local administrative region, landmass wise, for eight years. 

The circumstances surrounding his removal and his current detention are unclear as no official information has so far been issued publicly.
