Yesterday The Standard conducted an investigation on the composition and here are some of the findings:
Lamin Sanneh: The former governor of West Coast Region who has just been appointed permanent secretary at the Ministry Lands is perhaps the best known of the group. Until his appointment as governor, Sanneh had been a career sports officer at the Ministry of Youth and Sports where he served in various capacities coordinating sports in most regions in The Gambia in addition to other functions.
Haddy Sillah-Njie, the only lady among them was a former Gambia national athlete, who played volleyball and other sports.
Another familiar name in sports is Famara Colley, an educationist and sports administrator.
Ba Jabbie is the chairman of the Brufut Youth and Sports Committee and for more than twenty years has been a leading member of the famous Brufut Marathon of which he also currently serves as chairman. He is a leading member of the Super Nawettan Organisng Committee which organises the zonal championship. Not much is known about Although not much is known about Malick Mbye a source told The Standard that he is a man with great passion for football and an avid follower of its evolution in the Gambia.
