The 8th edition of the Farafenni international marathon will take place on December 8.
According to the organizers nearly 1000 participants are expected to participate in this year’s race principally supported by the YKJ security services based in the UK.
Speaking to The Standard, Ismaila Jammeh a member of the organising committee said this year’s event will feature 21km for male, 10km for female and 5 km open to all categories.
Jammeh said the main objective of the marathon, which has grown to attract both local and international athletes, is to unite and enhance the development of Farafenni through sports, adding that the proceeds from the event would be utilised towards social development by supporting the health and educative needs of the community.
Registrations are open for D100 to all categories except the primary school race.
