The Farimang Singhateh Foundation on Thursday presented medical assortment and furniture worth millions of dalasi to the Edward Francis Small Teachimg Hospital and Saint Augustine’s Senior Secondary School respectively.
The medical items were handed over to the hospital PRO Modou Lamin Jammeh by Ousman Singhateh, a grandchild of the late Governor and spokesman of the foundation.
He spoke of the Foundation’s intention and desire to help the Gambia in many philanthropic ways as a legacy of Sir Farimang Singhateh, a former governor of the Gambia who was himself a health worker.
These sentiments were echoed by Mustpaha Fye, assistant PRO of the Foundation. The items included 2 flow hoods, theater clogging and blood sample-taking utensils among others. A portion of the items went to Sintet Village.
At Saint Augustine’s Senior Secondary School, the Foundation secretary and wife of its President Foday Singhateh, Madame Fatou Singhateh presented chairs, tables and lockers and a huge pledge to redo the basketball ball lawn to a modern facility.
Father Bruno Toupan, Principal of Saints thanked the Foundation for the wonderful gesture at a ceremony attended by students of the school who received the Foundation members with songs at the school, where some of the Foundation members were students.
