The event opens at the Modibo Keita Stadium tomorrow morning supervised by the Malian Athletics Federation (FAM).

The Gambia has sent a strong contingent of top class athletes some of them from the IAAF Center of Excellence in Dakar Senegal.  Among them are sprint sensations Adama Jammeh and Gina Bass, and middle distance runners, Lamin Keita and Omar Jammeh all of whom have since arrived in Bamako.

The quartet will compete in the 100, 200 and 800 meters in this event.

Adama Jammeh and Gina Bass are lined for the 100 and 200meters, while Lamin Keita and Omar Jammeh will compete in the 800meters.

Adama competed in the event’s 12 edition two years ago, winning the 100 and 400meters which inspired the organisers to invite three more Gambians this year.
