By Isatou Jawara Barely two months after having his services recognised, Gambian Ernest Aubee, has received another recognition, with an award of honour this time around in Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA). The award came after Aubee, who is the Head of Agriculture Division at the Ecowas Commission, made immense contributions to the development of Ecological Organic Agriculture in the Ecowas. Speakers at the event lavished praises on him and the Ecowas Commission for the progress made in the EOA- Initiative within a short period of time. In October 2018, Aubee received the Change Agent Award in the area of policy and enabling environment on aflatoxin mitigation from the African Union. The award came during the 3rd Africa Organic Conference held in Saly, Senegal, from 5-8 November. The Conference was organised by the African Union Commission and other stakeholders within and outside the continent, and it seeks to promote the development of organic agriculture. The convergence developed strategies in order to help the continent increase its participation in organic agriculture trade to benefit African Union Member states. The EOA Initiative is a programme of the African Union Commission. The fourth conference on Ecological Organic Agriculture will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco in 2021.]]>
