The opposition Gambia Democratic Congress has demanded explanation for the sacking of Interior Minister Mai Fatty.
In a brief statement signed by national youth mobiliser, Modou MC Cham Junior shared with The Standard, GDC said it has been weeks since the Gambia’s Interior Minister was removed from office, and the government has difficulty telling people why he was sacked.
“We demand the government to immediately explain why they sacked him because of the extremely embarrassing episode making the rounds between and among the Barrow inner circle and government insiders.”

“This is a new Gambia. It is paramount for the general public to know what happened so that the issue of speculation will be the thing of the past,” the statement said.
