GDC joins efforts to mask LK Sabiji Constituency

Sequel to the government pronouncement in making face masks compulsory in the crusade against COVID-19, Mr Ebrima Nyang with the support of his leadership team comprising the GDC Candidate for Faji Kunda ward, the constituency chairman, women mobilizer and supporters have come to the aid of the constituency as a responsible leader would do.

The GDC Latrikunda Sabiji on Friday 28th August, 2020 launched the initiative “Mask Latrikunda Sabiji Constituency- Boot Covid-19”. This initiative is meant to target those within the constituency who could not afford to buy masks to help in the 100% compliance, minimize infections and save our people from the cruel hands of COVID-19. The donations are for the people of the constituency irrespective of one’s party affiliations. We are one people and the fight against COVID-19 is one that would only be won through joint efforts.

The team has donated 600 masks within the constituency which were handed over to the three wards councillors which are: Sabiji ward Ansumana Bayo, Faji Kunda ward Baba Jabbie and Abuko ward Pa Gibba.

The ward councillors thanked the GDC delegation and expressed their gratitude as this was not the first time the GDC is making humanitarian interventions in the constituency.
Ebrima Nyang on his part called for unity in the fight against covid-19 and highlighted the importance of his party stands to defeat this virus through collective efforts and adhering to the WHO and Ministry of Health guidelines.

Finally, Nyang thanked the ward councillors for always opening their doors to GDC despite their political differences and urged them to use the masks for its intended purposes. He went further to say the face masks are prepared on a non-party colour or logo and this is to allow all to use it despite their political ties.
