By Maimuna Sey-Jawo The candidate under the ticket of GDC in Lower Fulladu, Central River Region, Aminata Jallow, has said she will not disappoint her party and has promised to sweep the polls in next month’s parliamentary election. Aminata Jallow is the only female candidate that is contesting with seven male candidates in the Lower Fulladu West. She said she is motivated by the lack of women representatives in decision-making bodies and has vowed to win the polls for women of her constituency. “I believe the people have strong support and confidence in me. That is why I was selected,” she said. She said her experience in such elections gives her an edge over her opponents. “This is the time for women to participate in politics because we are far left behind,” she said. According to her, she will address issues affecting women and youths in development. She described her party leader as a peace advocate. “I am also emulating him by calling on all the electorates to maintain political maturity, in the sense that without peace and stability, we cannot make any meaningful development.  I am also advising my fellow aspiring candidates to maintain peace especially during this campaign,” Aminata said.]]>
