Girigara quits GDC

By Omar Bah

Pa Njie Girigara, the Gambia Democratic Congress candidate in the recent mayoral election in Kanifing, has announced he is no longer part of the GDC or any other political party.
“I wish to inform the general public that I am not a member of the GDC party or any other political party. I do not hold any position in any political party in the Gambia,” Mr Njie stated in a write up shared with The Standard yesterday.

Njie further revealed that his political relationship with the GDC stopped at representing them as a candidate in the last mayoral election.
“I henceforth wish to state that I have no association with everything the GDC Executive says or writes in the public domain. I wish to take the opportunity to thank all those that voted for me during the last mayoral elections,” he added.
Njie concluded that he is now back to his job as a businessman and independent politician that does not belong to any political party.
