The Gambia Press Union will today commemorate World Press Freedom Day in partnership with UNESCO under the 2018 WPFD theme of “Keeping Power in Check: Media, Justice and the Rule of Law”.
The event is expected to bring together 300 delegates, including government ministers, journalists, civil society actors, students, the business community, and the development and diplomatic communities
This year’s World Press Freedom Day focuses on the importance of media in keeping the government accountable to the governed, promotion of justice and the rule of law. The panelists include Dr. Baba Galleh Jallow, ASP. David Kujabi, Mr. Madi Jobarteh and Mr. Muhammed B. Sowe.
