GPU reveals final shortlist of award nominees

The Gambia Press Union has yesterday revealed the final shortlist of journalists nominated for the second edition of the National Journalism Awards held annually in commemoration of World Press Freedom Day.
Below is the full list of nominees in each category:

1.    Sports
Nominees:
Sulayman Bah: From brushing with death to crossing the Mediterranean Sea by bat to a professional footballer: the story of Lamin Jawo (Foroyaa, 12th April 2017)
Omar Jarju: Football in Kafuta (West Coast Radio, undated)
John Mendy: Gunjur defied odds to end 23 years long wait (West Coast Radio, 31st October 2016)

Nominees:

The award takes place on Friday May 5th at the Djembe Hotel, where the winners will be unveiled.
