The Gambia Transport Service Company, GTSC, has recently donated D10, 000 to the Kanifing Municipal Council’s foreign relation committee as their contribution to its proposed youth summer camp in Mbao, Dakar.
The money was presented to the KM foreign relation committee’s chairman at a brief handing-over ceremony at the GTSC conference hall in Kanifing.
Speaking shortly after the presentation, GTSC human resource and admin Raymond Ceesay said though the money is not part of their budget, “we believe it is our paramount responsibility to contribute to the country’s national development.”
“Also given the fact that, the trip involves young people and it being in Senegal, we have no choice but to ensure we contribute our quarter. Because the camp we believe will go a long way in ensuring that two countries build a mutual understanding and sense of belonging,” he said.
The GTSC marketing manager Fabuka Njaay said his company, being the leading bus transport service operator in the sub-region, is taking part in many national developmental activities in the country and in the region at large.
Meanwhile, the Kanifing Municipal Council’s chairman of foreign relation Mustapha Sosseh expressed his committee’s overwhelming satisfaction to GTSC and reassured them KMC’s continuous support and collaboration at all times.
