Hawks’ coach Fatty rues defeat to Gamtel

Mighty Hawks FC are ruing the weekend defeat to league leaders Gamtel with coach Ansu Fatty blaming it on relaxed performance by his team. Hawks were beaten 1-0 by ten-man Gamtel who lost their marksman Modou Sarr to a red card  but  maintained form to cling on to the lead.

Fatty said their game on the night was poor as they allowed their opponents to hold the ball while they relaxed. “It was only our defense line that was outstanding today,”he said, after the match.

However according to him, Hawks can still go ahead to have a good season.  “This defeat will not necessarily affect our coming games; we just have to go there and rectify our mistakes,” he said.

Fatty was hopeful that Hawks can finally dream of the title this year after a long spell of trophy drought.

Meanwhile Hawks return to action tomorrow to face Interior in their re-scheduled  game at the KG5 in Banjul. The initial fixture could not go ahead after match officials failed to turn up.
