The Independent Electoral Commission has announced the nomination dates for 26 presidential aspirants commencing this Saturday.
The schedule, shared with The Standard, reveals that the nomination for president will start from 9:30am and end at 2:30pm daily.
According to the schedule, independent candidate Joseph Joof will appear before IEC officials at Election House at 9:30am on Saturday while Marie Sock, Alhaji Kurang and Mathew Gomez will follow later in the day.
Independents Ebrima Tabora Manneh, Momodou Bah (1), Bankole Ahadzie, and ANRD are scheduled for Sunday while the United Democratic Party is scheduled for Monday as well as Gambia For All, Gambia Moral Congress and All People’s Party.
Also, independent candidates Mamadi KS Camara, Gambia Democratic Congress, Citizens’ Alliance and Momodou Bah (2) will file their nominations on Tuesday November 2 while GANU, PDOIS, GAP and Tamsir Jasseh will appear on Wednesday and Essa Mbye Faal, NPP and Matarr Nyang will be on Thursday.
The nominations will be completed on Friday November 5 by independent candidate Papa Faal, National Unity Party and Democratic Party.
