Isatou S Barry

Youth activist

Already a familiar face in the country, Isatou S Barry graduated from the Gambia Methodist Academy in June 2014 where she developed an insatiable taste for activism. She began active involvement in youth advocacy and social media activism during her days in school with an admirable command of English Language. Isatou started and honed her leadership skills at SOS Hermann Gmeiner Upper Basic School where she rose to become President of her school’s Red Cross Link and later became more involved in global issues and community service. Beautiful, confident and elegant, Isatou was part of a youth delegation that represented The Gambia at the Model UN Conference and Global Young Leaders Conference in 2013 and 2014, respectively. She is currently pursuing a business degree with more emphasis on Business Law and Economics in the United States of America. A bright young girl whose future already looks promising, Isatou gives credit to her mother for her desirable rise to prominence. “My mom taught me the power of hardwork and the power of making promises to one’s self and keeping true to these promises. She lived this example and I grew up seeing this. This has been the guiding force for me in every journey.”]]>
