Gambian hip-hopper Shuga has been on the go since the start of her career and there seem to be no stopping in sight.
Born Sarah Sillah, Shuga is a British-born Gambian singer-songwriter who began her music career at a very young age. She started out as a dancer before joining a hip-hop dance group in London.
Her breakthrough moment came with the release of her anthem The Smiling Coast featuring Gambian rap ace Gee.
The song became a radio and TV hit.
Over the years, she has performed in concerts in Africa and Europe.
Last year, she starred at the annual Open Mic fest, where she delivered a superb set including a remix of Smiling Coast alongside Gee.
Shuga said the song was inspired by her experiences when she visits family and friends in The Gambia.
The video of the song was voted most-watched Gambian music video of 2014.
Shuga has worked on numerous projects which include her EP and collaborated on score in the scene. She hopes to make gains in the global music scene someday.
