Preparing to make his appearance in one of Europe’s major summer festivals, Sfinks Mixed Festival, Gambia’s afromanding entertainer-Jali Madi is definitely looking forward to this year’s Europe summer jam.
Sfinks Mixed Festival in Boechout, Belgium, is scheduled to take place on 26th July 2018.The Gambian entertainer, who is on his Europe tour, is expected to share the same stage with his fellow compatriot- Sona Jobarteh, Malian sensation- Oumou Sankare and Charly Black, among other international acts at this international fest.
Born and raised in Latrikunda German, Jali Madi Kanuteh began his musical career in 1999 with a rap group called Askan Bi. He left the group and went solo.
He has collaborated with the Holy Family Band for years during which the ensemble came to be best known in The Gambia for its hit ‘Bul Falleh Nyee’ in 2012.
The band is made of self-taught musicians and they have performed and collaborated with all the most renowned musicians in the country.
It was in 2000, when he released a maiden single titled ‘Mam Jarra’ and a year later he dropped another second single called ‘Allah la Kay’. In 2013, he got signed to Joluv Arts Entertainment to promote the release of his nine-debut album titled ‘Gambia’ (released in 2014).
