Jaliba Kuyateh made this statement on Friday in Churchill’s Town, where hundreds of people turned out to receive iftar packages from Mr Darboe and his Vision Development Foundation (VDF) NGO.
Speaking to The Standard Jaliba who was there to help in distributing the packages said: “I am happy to be associated with this event. It is the second time in two years that I have taken part in distributing the packages to needy Muslims during Ramadan. This is a good thing as it is a form of charity which is a sunnah of the prophet. It is said that to give as little as a date palm to someone to break his or her fast attracts great reward, much more such a package.”
Jaliba said: “We all have to pray for Mr Darboe for such a gesture, and for Vision Development Foundation to grow higher and higher. Africa needs more people like Modou Turo Darboe, those who are able, and willing to invest their resources for the poor and the needy of our societies. Many others should emulate him and he should be a source of pride to us all,” he added.
The packages contain dates, tea sachets, bread, sugar, fish and iced water and money was also given.]]>
