Kaba Sambou moves to Kosovo champions

By Modou Lamin Beyai Gambia international defender Kaba Sambou has completed his transfer to Kosovo Premier League champions KF Trepça’89, The Standard can exclusively report. The 20-year-old versatile Hawks FC player, was in Turkey trialling with FK Partizani Tirana but failed to convince the Albanian club that he is worth a deal. He has now decided to put pen to paper by moving to Trepça, the crowned Kosovan league champions in the 2016/17 league season who have secured a place in this year’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers. The former Stade de Mbour loanee is the first Gambian to play in Kosovo, a country that only gained its independence in February 2008. KF Trepça’89, formed in 1989, are based in Mitrovicë, which is the northern part of Kosovo. They play their matches at the 12,000 capacity Riza Lushta Stadium.]]>
