His controversial departure from Greek club Levadiakos FC, had left him searching for a new pasture following spells with Major League Soccer clubs – Houston Dynamo, Colorado Rapids and New York Red Bulls before his short career in Greece with Koloni FC and Levadiakos FC.
Born in Senegal, raised in The Gambia, his father is a Senegalese and his mother a Gambian. He went to the US in 2003 when he was just 17. A hot property afterwards, he was a long time target of former Scorpion coach – Paul Put and had attracted interest from clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City of the English Premier League during their preseason practice games in the US. However, the lanky forward now 28, had earlier announced a decision to give up his desire to play for the US but is yet to get the nod for either Senegal or The Gambia.
