The 4th edition of the late Lamin Kinteh memorial football tournament in Jarra West started Friday at the Jarra Soma Mini stadium between Sankwia and Pipeline FC. It ended one all with Ousman Sanneh putting Pipeline ahead before Sankwia equalised from the spot with a beautiful conversion by Demba Sonko.
The tournament is organized annually by the Jarra West Nawettan committee and 17 football teams in the region are taking part.

The famous memorial football tournament used to attract many teams in the Jarra West district because of the lucrative price attached to it. The sponsors Ousman B Kinteh and Yankuba Kinteh are Gambians based in the United Kingdom who have been supporting the tourney since its starting fours years ago.
The late Lamin Kinteh was well known for his work in promoting grassroots football, which is in line with the Gambia Football Federation’s aims and objectives.

A whopping D35, 000 awaits the winner while any team finishing second will be pocketing D15,000. Prizes will also be awarded to the individual outstanding performers in the tournament too.
