MA Bah is APRC deputy leader

Momodou Alieu Bah, who served as Minister of Interior under former President Yahya Jammeh has been appointed as interim deputy party leader of the APRC, Seedy Njie the party’s spokesperson confirmed to The Standard yesterday.

Njie said the appointment took effect on 18 January 2018.
Bah was appointed interior minister by Jammeh to replace Ousman Sonko.
A former military officer Bah, along with other military officials were accused of involvement in a coup attempt in 2006 and was sent to jail before being pardoned by Jammeh who reinstated him and later made him Interior Minister. He was sacked from the army following the change of government.

Meanwhile the APRC spokesperson, Seedy Njie has also said he himself was arrested and interrogated by an intelligence officer at State House over his calling for the release of an APRC supporter.
“The interrogation/confrontation lasted for about two hours or more. I was asked to report back on Monday to the same office,” he said.
