Top Gambian human rights activist, Madi Jobarteh has been charged with false publication and broadcasting.
The Westminster Foundation country representative was invited by police for questioning yesterday, few days after leading a Black Lives Matter protest where activists called for an end to racism and injustice against blacks in America.
Madi said he was questioned based on his comments about Haruna Jatta, Kebba Secka and Ousman Darboe, all three allegedly killed by security.
He was released on bail for D50,000 and one Gambian surety.
He was asked to report this morning. Madi said he considered the police action kidnapping.
