Mohamadou ‘Muhammed’ Sumareh and Pahang fell further behind in the chase for the Malaysia Super League title when they succumbed to a surprise 3-2 loss to Mamadou ‘Futty’ Danso’s Kelantan on Saturday evening.

Sumareh earlier secured the bragging rights with a 2-1 win over his compatriot when the two met in the league first leg on April 8 but Futty and his team went all out for the revenge when they visited Pahang with new signing Sanna Nyassi yet to be eligible to play.

They took the lead in the 17th minute before the hosts fired back in the 69th minute with an assist from Gambian winger Sumareh but visiting Kelantan struck again twice to ensure they leave the third largest state in Malaysia with the maximum points.

With the win, they lie 4th on the standings with 19 points while Sumareh’s Pahang still sit on second position with 21 points, six behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim.
