Man accused of raping boy, 11

A rape case involving one Hamza Jeng has been transferred from the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court to the High Court.

Jeng is accused of raping an 11-year-old-boy and was arraigned before Magistrate AB Faal where he pleaded not guilty. “We asked for the accused to be remanded pending the hearing of this case at the special criminal division of the High Court pursuant to Section 62 and 208 (A) of the criminal procedure,” the prosecutor begged the court.

The court granted the application and ordered the transfer of the case and remanded the accused person, pending the hearing of the matter at high court.
