Man caught on camera stealing arraigned

One Mustapha Ceesay who was caught on camera stealing at an office complex in Latrikunda German on Thursday appeared at the Kanifing Magistrate Court before Magistrate AB Faal, charged with four counts ranging from stealing, breaking to attempt to commit felony. He pleaded guilty to three counts, but denied breaking.

Testifying as second police prosecution witness, Sulaymen Njie told the court that the accused was seen on camera breaking and ransacking the offices of Torodo Chambers and stealing a laptop of the law firm.

The witness added that the accused was also seen on camera entering a cosmetic shop in the same building where he was later seen carrying some cosmetic items, including body lotions.

 â€œHe also stole the security guard’s phone and Bluetooth speaker on his way out and was all these was caught on camera,” the witness said.  The accused said he did not find the doors of the building locked and so he did not break into the offices or shop. Sub-Inspector Lamin Jammeh appeared for IGP. The trial continues.
